A Financial Representative with the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network is a Relationship Manager who provides expert guidance and innovative solutions for the planning needs of individuals and businesses. Your job is to understand your clients, their dreams, and their vision in order to ensure that you're bringing them the right advice at the right time.
Through our needs-based process of fact-finding and analysis, you help determine what is right for your clients and ensure that their needs are evaluated from every perspective. You may work with personal clients in areas of Insurance and Investments, Personal Needs Analysis, Education Funding, Retirement or Estate Planning. In addition, you work with your business clients in the areas of Employee Benefit or Business Needs Analysis.
The Financial Representative engages in:
•
Effectively sourcing prospective clients, capitalizing on referrals, assessing customer needs, and executing highly customized solutions to meet the client needs
•
Recommending insurance and investment products and services that are suitable for prospects and clients based on their objectives, resources, time horizon, risk profile, and preferences
•
Developing a book of business in order to meet and exceed the required performance hurdles
•
Balancing growth, referral activities, customer follow up, prospect building, administrative compliance, and personal growth and development according to both a day-to-day and longer-term plan
•
Planning and managing resources (time, people, budget) to run a productive practice
•
Seeking the expertise of specialists, where appropriate, to identify planning insurance and investment strategies for a client
•
Establishing and maintaining relationship with the management team and informing management of any circumstances that require supervisory attention/review/approval as per compliance guidelines and policies
•
Completing mandated training, assessments, performance goals, and continuing education requirements

Qualifications: BA or BS degree from a four-year institution; strong interpersonal skills; self-motivated and entrepreneurial; history of personal success. Financial Representatives must have at least three years of continuous U.S. residency, hold a permanent resident visa and read, write and speak English fluently.
